We make many jokes in our society about BDSM. We say 'spank you, very much' and make laughing comments in passing about 'kinky folks,' yet most of the time, most folks don't really understand what BDSM is.

This book is not another primer on the practice of BDSM. There are many fine publications dedicated to the subject of BDSM ~ should you decide that's how you want to proceed with your sex life. You won't find expert advice or tips such as how to select safety words, tie proper knots, write a slave contract, or make your own leather collar in this text. Instead, this book looks at the issue of BDSM as a legitimate and healthy part of sexual and romantic relationships.

Our goal here is not to 'get you into BDSM' but rather it is to enlighten, to promote understanding, about BDSM.
